11-6-17 Northern Miami Dad Solar Co-Op

Posted by Teens Go Green on November 7, 2017 at 9:45 AM

I've always wanted to visit solar co-ops. I learned about it when I interned with the Orange County Environmental Protection Division, and I wanted to see what it's about and how Miami-Dade is going about with the plan.

I attended an info session and learned so much regarding solar panels and how Miami residents could get them easier. Not everyone can get solar panels, it must be houses with no trees with roofs facing the south or east when the sun hits it. Furthermore, the energy bill is usually less than $10 a month. So many people are not interested in solar panels because of the sustainability, rather the long term investment that will help save people money in the future.

I went to the event in my CATA affiliate Silver Needle & Thread organic top. It was perfect to attend the info session as it was simple and comfortable for an info session event.
